Monday 26 March 2018 saw the official opening of the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness.
Supported by Ruth and myself, this is a new initiative aimed to shine a light on the plight of stateless people both within our region and further afield.
The opening event was a great success, being strongly supported by a large crowd who are hugely supportive of this great initiative. Throughout the opening we heard from many people, including Professor Michelle Foster from the University of Melbourne, who will head this new Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness. The mandate for their work is to research the scale of, and reason for, statelessness and to develop responses to it, and work to protect human rights of stateless people.
Below are a range of images of the fantastic event.
